G.J. Alleviating Hunger and Food Waste
How Do we Work with Food Providers and Food Storage Locations
1. Document Food Provider and Food Storage locations in each city.
2. Reach out to Food Storage Areas and find out what food donations are preferable based on their respective location's needs/interests and constraints.
3. Communicate with Food Providers and find out if they are interested in working with G.J. Alleviating Hunger & Food Waste and donating excess, unsold food.
4. Provide additional documentation/paperwork related to the non-profit organization to Food Providers for references.
5. If the Food Provider is interested, the Food Providers and Food Storage Areas are connected based on the type and quantity of donations and the respective requirements of the Food Storage area.
6. Send confirmed approval agreement to Food Provider and Food Storage Locations for signatures and legalizing of partnership.
7. Communicate times and days with partners to retrieve food collections from Food Providers and distribute them to Food Storage Locations.
8. Inform volunteers on their respective collection and distribution schedules based on their availability.
9. Send 3-day notification and 1-day notification reminders to volunteers.
10. Once the day arrives, volunteers will transfer and distribute the food to the proper locations, and the quantities will be documented in the database.
